On the map of Africa, Ghana can be located in the west and is bounded to the north by Burkina Faso, to the South by the Atlantic Ocean, east by Togo and west by Cote D'Ivoire.  Ghana, formerly "Gold Coast" was colonized by the British, however, it gained its independence in 1957 with Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as its first President.
